DODGEBALL RULES

GAME TIME

Games will be 10 minutes long.  Each team will be allowed one minute T.O.  Whoever has the most sets win the match.  You win a set by eliminating the other team.  If both teams are tied in sets after 10 minutes, there will be a sudden death set to win the match.  Their will be no blocking allowed in sudden death.  Teams may sub in and out between sets or T.O.'s.

Hard Lines Rules/OB Rules

Anyone that touches the hardline is out.

OPEN RUSH

8 balls on the line, 4 balls on one side, 4 balls on the opposite side.  Teams must grab the 4 balls to the right of them.

Referees will blow the match live by yelling 3,2,1, dodgeball.  The teams will run from the back lines to the midline and must bring the balls back past the activation line before they can throw it at their opponents, this is the only time that a player may cross or touch the midline without being out.

A Player Being Out

If the ball thrown from an opposing player hits a body part or clothing and hits the ground, the person will be out and go to the out box to their right outside the hardine.

Dead Ball

A ball is deemed dead if it:

- hits the floor

- a player that is out

- hits another ball in the air

Blocking

A person may use the ball to block a ball.  If a ball is used to block the person must maintain possession of the ball used to block.  Also must avoid contact from a live ball.  If you block a ball but it hits one of your teammates and it hits the ground, your teammate will be out.

Catching

If your teammate catches a live ball off a block before it becomes a dead ball the opponent is out.  And one dead teammate is allowed back in and must enter from the back line before they are alive again.  Dead teammates that are allowed back in from a catch must be from order of elimination.

If you catch a live ball the opponent is out and one dead is allowed back in and must enter from the back line to be live again.

If a live ball is caught after it has it one or multiple teammates the teammates are still alive and the opponent is out.

(Note: Dead teammates must come in immediately and enter from the back line or they will not be allowed back in and the team loses the extra life from the catch).

Advantage Rules

When there is an advantage rule the team with the advantage has 10 secs to throw at least one ball or forfeit all their balls.

A team has the advantage if:

- they have more balls than the other team.

- balls are equal but one side has more active players

- they won the last set

- the team was last to receive a ball.
